Hi I have a SW 5904 9mm it has adjustable sights I had it rebarelled and verified restricted by Bits n Pieces in Delta. I am the original owner just wondering what it is worth it is in like new condition.

I missed a plain restricted 59 at a local gun show last year priced at $500 with the B&P restricted barrel. A great deal at that price.

Your 5904 is a newer model and worth more, in my humble opinion. In mint condition, it would be a gift at $600. I'm sure Barry charged at least $300 to do the barrel. Frankly, I wouldn't sell such a thing for less than $750 if I had it in the condition you describe.

If the laws ever change, the original (factory) barrel can always be found and re-installed. A job of a few minutes at most, and there are lots of the prohibited barrels in the USA for under $100.

These are good shooters, though I prefer the single stack models (39, 639, 3904, 3906, 3913, etc.) and of course buy them in their 12(6) configuration. Minty S&W auto, normally prohibited, now restricted and available to all those guys who always wanted one? If people were smart, your inbox would be full of PMs already. They wouldn't wait to miss it on the EE.

It doesn't help that you have no feedback, though. I'd get busy and buy and sell some other stuff. Maybe minor things, but build up your feedback first.

Sorry I didnt say it has been reclassified restricted. As for it being butchered not much choice I wasnt going to turn it in and there wasnt much of a market leaving it prohib. A friend of mine sold his single stack sw for 200 bucks anyway thanks for the info

The 5906's 5904's etc were nice guns as they were made. Conversions to make them restricted seem like a good idea, but don't really add much value. Even your 5904 in stock condition might be worth C$350.00 as a prohib class gun. The costs associated with making it over to restricted class puts the finished gun in the S&W M&P, Glock 17 and other assorted semi-auto class price range. Probably more $. If you didn't want to keep it you would be competing with the aforementioned semi-auto new prices, and you would probably not get the money out of the sale. In my humble opinion, conversion of the 5900, 639, 59 & 38 series of S&W pistols is just not worth the trouble or the expense....

I'd say you could get $650 (at least) for it in mint condition. I don't see why people say making it restricted is a negative. It gives people without the prohib license a chance to own something they otherwise couldn't. I would also buy an all steel 9mm in mint condition before a new, entry-level polymer pistol. They only drawbacks to selling it is you won't likely recoup the cost of rebarrelling it, that and availability of parts/mags.

This is the second gun I bought, paid about $500 for it brand new back in 1990. It came in a cardboard box, manual and a cleaning rod.
