My buddy just bought a win 94 in 32spl made in 1902,the wood is solid no cracks or splits and in good shape except a couple of dings that any rifle of this age would have, it has a crescent butt plate. The action is nice and tight it has a 26" round barrel with good rifling and slight pitting near the muzzle it's marked nickel steel barrel, especially for smokeless powder. The metal overall has a nice brownish patina, the rear sight has a notch with 2 folding leafs and the front sight is a standard post. There is a small oval stamp on the receiver where it meets the barrel and is also on the barrel,it looks like a T on top of a M on top of a P or could be a P on top of a W on top of a T depends witch way you read it from. Now the only thing that i have never seen before is the muzzle is flat no crown just flat and is 26" long so i don't think it was cut.Any info would be greatly appreciated,I'm not computer savvy so i can't post pics but i have lots i can send by email thanks.

Sounds correct to me. Your standard 1894 rifle was not crowned at the muzzle, and was 26" in length, though carbines and ELW rifles were, if I recall correctly. Sounds like it may have a Lyman Number 6 rear folding leaf sight, but not sure without pics. Your standard receiver and barrel proofs should be matching WP in oval, for "Winchester Proof". Maybe they are just not clear, sometimes they are double stamped, which can also make them difficult to read. I can post photos for you if you email them to me. Just PM if you would like me to do so. A picture is worth 1000 words.
Cheers,
Matt

Sorry for the delay posting your photos. I was away, and sick as a dog too.
Cheers,
Matt

Nice old 94. The express sight is a special order item. Other than that, pretty much a standard 1894 rifle. From a collectors standpoint the 32WS is the LEAST desirable chambering, don't know why, just the way it is. In my area you would be doing well to get $650 out of the rifle, if the bore is good.

Ditto what Webby said, but for AB. The fact you have a three leaf express sight, that DOESN'T have the middle leaf broken off is a bonus, but doesn't really add anything unfortunately.
