Value of a 60's Remington 550-1

I have owned 2. They are good guns. I paid $200 $220 respectively, but they were not minty on the outside. They have a floating chamber, and because they are able to shoot .22short, the chamber may need a good scrubbing as that gap tended to collect a bit of gunk if not tended to regularly. PLUS, some of the older Remington's had a steady diet of corrosive .22short ammo, which caused me a bit of a headache with a ring that was eaten at the end of the chamber, in which brass would swell and have difficulty extracting.
IF this gun is in excellent condition, I would say it would be worth it. Just give it a good inspection to be sure it wasn't abused as a child............
