one of my relatives just showed up the other day, gave me his model 70 Winchester XTR sporter chambered in 300 WBY , made in new Connecticut,
He said his new wife doesnt want him to him to own firearms,or have them in the apartment, if he has no intentions of hunting due to they live in the city and an apartment :HR:
any ways he said i could have have it so we transferred it, to my name, I was thinking I don't need it and would sell it, and give him the money, its in fair shape, he said he never shot it for 5 or 6 years, and doesn't remember how much he shot it, it looks like very little ,what would a rifle like this be worth, I cant seem to post pics to show what it looks like,

Found this on the 24 hour Campfire, for what it's worth:

"Winchester Model 70 XTR Sporter 300 Weatherby Mag that sets in a McMillan Winchester Classic stock. Stock has been bedded, bolt lapped and trigger worked around 3 pounds. This gun will shoot groups around 1 inch at 200 yards.
$650.00 obo gun,rings and base only.No scope."

I believe this is a US price which is usually 10 - 20% lower than Canadian prices.

The Weatherby magnum is a fine cartridge, but brass and ammunition cost is atrocious.
