I remember them for sale for about $950 and now I see them for about $1200. How rare are these rifles? I read there were a few thousand in Bulgaria I think. But I can’t find any info on them on collector sites? They seem rare but on a scale of 1-10 10 being the rarest? Where would they be a 10? Another thing with little to none info, how do you tell if it’s real or if someone just put a m44 bayonet on a 91/30?

There are multiple different versions of 91/30s with folding bayonets, some side folding, some under folding.
The ones that were recently imported are Semin pattern (they were an experimental varsion, and never got an official designation unlike some other versions).
Before this batch showed up, best I can tell there were only individual units in North American collections.

They'd be a 10, maybe 11. It is quite remarkable that these found their way to Canada. We are extremely fortunate.
Estimates are 5000 (possibly 10K) were made.
No way an M44 bayonet could be attached. One is welded on, one is pinned.

I would suggest the value of these is more related to the fact that the rifles are only lightly refurbed, or in some cases non-refurbed. Any original, matching 91/30 in Canada is a "10". Frankly I'm not sure that the semi-permanently attached folding bayonets add much value to them. I guess we'll know that next time some original matching 91/30's without folding bayonets are put up for sale!

There are a couple dealers now re-selling them for $1300+

On the EE, you may find one for around $1000 for the time being, though the nicer examples are selling higher. These will go up in value once they largely disappear into collections, it's just matter of when.

If you want to verify the authenticity buy one from a respected dealer or respected collector.

Value of milsurps only goes one way.

I paid $1500 for my non-refurbished example without hesitation. I also paid around ~$1400 landed for my light refurbished examples directly from Europe before I knew about the TradeEx import. What's it worth to you? 5,000 made in 1943.

I looked in a book and they were all under folder bayonets didn’t see any side folders like the ones recently imported so was just curious if someone just put a m44 bayonet on these ones.

Which book? So called M91/30/43 or "7.62 rifle model 91/30 with Semin folding bayonet" (official designation) is documented small run production. Latest book on this subject is Yuschenko one - http://mosin.info/book.html.
Putting M44 bayonet would require making it longer and using different mount system.

Lapin's book was outdated before it was published. There was already better information on the internet.

As suggested, the Yuschenko reference is the most recent, and Alex is working on another edition - I've provided him a few photos of things for the next edition.

These rifles ARE covered in the Yuschenko book, and that was before they turned up on the market earlier this year.
