Value of a Remington Gamemaster

Good day all,
Hoping someone can help me put an approximate value on a rifle.

Remington Game Master
Model 760
.300 Savage caliber
Serial # 8311* - I hope this is right, the receiver has some light rust on it , so the serial # was hard to read , I can inspect it closer if this # seems wrong.

The rifle is in good working order. There is a bit of rust on much of the metal.The wood has some nicks and dents but no major damage.

It has been offered to me to buy, but I have no idea of it's value. I would probably refinish it , as I would be buying it as a working gun, not for a collector
piece .
Any help would be appreciated.

I would say $400. The .300 savage is a hard sell in the 760, and one in really nice condition would go for $450. Pics would be helpful but from your description I would say $400.

I sold one in .270 cal about 2 months ago and I got 350 for it. It was in decent shape.

With enough rust on it to make the serial # hard to read I would say $300.00 to $325.00 would be plenty.

Even though I collect 7600's every time I open my mouth on one of these I seem to be too cheap but I am 100% with you.
Plus 300 sav is not a caliper on many wish lists, now if it was a .222 etc.
