What's a fair value for a Ruger No. 1V in .22-250? The barrel is good. The wood has excellent figure, but is not in excellent shape. Blueing has some marks. Don't be harsh, it is in the same condition as when I bought it.

I haven't shot it for quite a few years, I'm considering parting with it. I've been watching the EE, but so few No. 1s come up I can't find a value. Was givien a price of $1700 for a new one, if you can find one.

That's an old girl. The checkering pattern, pad and 1/4 rib on a varmint are all signs she is older. The checkering pattern suggests she is from the mid 70's.

That one should not go for more than $1000, and realistically less than that... $800-$900 would be fair for both parties.

I'm not putting it down when I say she is an old girl. The wood on these older ones was many times much nicer than the ones you see today. Same with the fit and finish.

Sorry DG. I did not mean to imply you were putting the gun down , I know you were not.
Also I changed computes to zoom in more, wow this does have nice wood,;)

The wood is typical of 70's guns... I have been trading Ruger's for a long time... and even with the current increases in New No.1's, $900 is a generous valuation... No.1-V's in .22/250 are a common configuration.
