Value of a Smith and Wesson 586 .357 magnum?

I have an eye on a local 586 and just wondering about the quality, value reliability etc...Anyone handled one of these?

I believe these were just the blued version of the 686. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I handled one this year in a store. Nice condition, no blue wear or major dings. I think they wanted $550.

Only the 4" guns will be prohib. They were made in 6" as well as some other lengths. Love to get a 5".

I got mine on here for 550 i think. 6" barrel full under lug. Real beauty!

586 was likely only made in 4", 6" and 8 3/8" barrel length. I have owned several and they are usually accurate and pleasant to shoot. They used to sell for about $100 cheaper than the stainless versions.

Value depends on condition, specially if a blued gun. Stainless finishes can be easily restored but not so with blued.

I sold my mint 586 dash zero for $625 shipping included.

If it's an older variant in nice condition with original wood grips $550 is a good price.
