As per my thread in the general discussion forum, I'm trying to help a friend value and maybe dispose of some guns. I'd like to get an idea of the value of this Winchester Model 61 pump .22 rimfire s/l/lr take-down. It looks to be in really nice condition. I might buy it myself, but if not, I`ll have the owner create an account and list it on EE.

I own one and paid $450, but it wasn`t in near the shape that one is. My guess would be anywhere between $525 (shipping not included) to $650 (shipping included). Someday I`d love to add another to keep this one I have company. I`ve owned a pile of old 22s and my 1947 Winchester model 61 is the best all round shooter I have and love the feel.

Hello,

It is important to establish the age of the rifle as part of the attempt to determine the value of the rifle. Based on the style of the
barrel stamp and the size of the wooden slide shown in your first photo it is a relatively early rifle. Could you tell me if the upper
tang is D&T for a peep sight mount as in the attached photo? If you will tell me the serial number of the rifle I can give you a
pretty darn good idea of the potential value, the week the rifle was serialized, and answer any further questions you might have.
I own 30 of these rifles and I am conducting a research survey on them also. You can read about it here:
