value of colt 70 series

That sounds like a wicked deal. I'm still trying to find a series 70 Government brand new, but nobody seems to have'm in.
Maybe I'll hafta import one.

so i have decided that id be stupid not buy this gun , even just to flip it so if it shows up on the EE for $750 in april dont be surprised. but it wont be unfired cuz i think guns want to be shot so im going to at least shoot a box of .45 through it

thanks for all the good info guys

Here is just a thought... Shooting a gun that is unfired decreases the value of it substantially... sort of like driving a car off the lot of a new car dealer.. you loose at least 20%...

What ever you do thats a great find.. Would love to buy one from your friend if he has anymore...

Good luck..

If you plan on keeping it, no problem shooting it, but otherwise...why would you substantially reduce the inherent value of a highly desirable and collectable unfired NIB Commander by running a box of ammo through it? You instantly change its status from collectable, to just another used 1911. That's taking a substantial chunk of change right out of your pocket, to what purpose?
