So I was given a Kahles Helia 4 S2 fixed 4x (late 70's/early 80's production I think) a while ago, and I was wondering what it's approximate value would be (not thinking of selling it though). It has a 26mm steel tube, some minor pitting on the exterior, finish is about 90%, it has been used (but not abused). The glass is in great shape and it functions perfectly. Below is a picture of it on my Ruger 10/22 (I know, I know... I just don't have anything else to put it on ATM... mainly because it's next to impossible to find rings for it...).

My guess would be about $1000 based on the pricing of all the new Kahles scopes; try finding one for less than $2000!

Ever read this story of the Kahles Super 6x42mm found almost 30 years later after being lost in the Austrian Alps? Even after that much exposure to the elements the optical quality was still superb---too bad the rifle didn't hold up.
