I'm looking at an old Winchester 94 but really don't know what I should offer. Any help would be appreciated.

From the serial number, its made in 1911. It is in 30-30. It has a 20" octagonal barrel that is fairly heavy. It has been re-blued but is not a high polish blue, closer to a mat finish. There are some pits on the sides of the receiver that were blued over, not big or deep and not noticeable until looking closely. There is a crack about 1 1/2" long on the bottom of the butt stock running back from the tang but the stock is still tight, there is not movement.

Any Winchester experts out there who can give me a price range on this rifle?

Thanks!

+1. The refinishing destroyed any value it has beyond a shooter. I wouldn't pay more than +/-$400 for that rifle based on the description.

Acutally, $375 -400 was what I was thinking. Altho I think that barrel is pretty rare and the bore is very good +.

Any other opinions about this rifle?

The barrel should be 26 inches long or around 25 and 5/16 inches from muzzle to receiver. It was probably cut some years ago. The standard rifle forend was 9 3/8 inches long. If it were a special order short rifle the forend would probably be 8 3/8 inches long. With a cut barrel, cracked stock and refinished I think $350 would be high enough for me.
