I've got 30 or so rounds of older Sellier & Bellot 12 gauge #4's. They are the older black paper rounds with red lettering and they are in very good condition.
I was just going to shoot them off, but I thought I would check first to see if they are worth anything. Does anyone have any idea what these shells are worth?

Thanks, Jon in New Brunswick

I used those shells when I was a kid. They were very poor quality in my opinion. Worst I ever shot of any brand! Fiber wads did not seal propellent gasses and the pattern would tip to one side or the other, shot was soft and clumped instead of giving even patterns. They do look cool but IF they still fire reliably they are worth about what the cheapest wall-mart special bulk pack ammo is worth. I wonder if the primers are corrosive, but don't know. Sorry to burst your bubble!

wow! ....I'll just feed them to my 12 gauge then...

Thanks for the feedback. They do look neat, but obviously you can't tell a book by it's cover! ....more fodder for my Winchester....

Thanks, Jon

At the local gun show last month, a guy was selling those for $2 per round! I bought a couple just for old times sake, as that's what I remember my dad shooting when I went bird hunting with him as a kid.

I also remember them swelling up and not fitting into the chamber!!!
