Looking for some help with this one.

I have a Savage model 10 with a heavy 24" barrel and oversized bolt knob. It's not fancy and has a blind magazine (top loader, factory stock). It's in very good condition and with reloads it would clover leaf at 100 yards. It can't have more than 100 rounds through it (I would have to count my brass). It's got the slickest bolt I have ever felt on a rifle. I bought it to get into long range shooting and it's been in the safe for 10 years except for the periodic oily patch through the barrel.

Can anyone estimate the value of this rifle? It's hard for me to figure out with all the fancy rifles out there.

Thanks for your help,

SB.

Comparable rifle would be the 12 FV sold at Cabela's, blind mag, plastic stock, oversized bolt knob, 26" heavy barrel, they go for $579 new, on sale every month of so for $499.

i would search in the ee savage 10 and see what comes up. not sure its compaeable to to the above, but to the other savage 10 lineup. i dont think they make the blind mag anymore but instead if my memory is right they use the action on others like fcp sr, t, etc. i would start there

The cheapest 10T-SR is $850 ($775 sale price) and comes with the accustock, detachable mag, 5r barrel with threaded muzzle, and 1913 one piece scope base, so a few upgrades over the older base 10 model.
The only difference between the 12FV and OP's rifle is the 10 has a blued bolt body and the 12 is jewelled, and the 2" extra barrel length on the 12.
They are all good guns, generally shoot very well.
