Value of Savage Enfield?

Found this thing today hiding in a gun safe. Looks like a Savage No. 4 MK1. Receiver says England on one side, and US Property on other. Top of buttstock has an S on it, and left side of stock has "60 ZF?P?"on it. End of muzzel says .303:2.22 and "18TCNS". Wood is in good shape. Bolt and mag numbers match the serial. Anyone have more info on this gun, and what do you think it would be worth to buy it? Thanks for any info. I have pictures of the rifle, but can't see how to add attachments to the post. Any hints would be appreciated.

The rifle could be in great shape and was just sold out of service when replaced by a newer rifle, it was inspected and proofed for sale by the British government and marked as such.

ZF -on butt - Beyond Local Repair

S - on butt - Sold out of service marking meaning it was released to the public
(could also mean small buttstock depending on location)
 
I could also be a squared off S on the buttstock which was on most of the original Savage supplied parts. If the S has numbers after it then it is a subcontrator mark. e.g. "S51" is Holland and Holland LTD london. The "England" and barrel markings "18TCNS" are marks not for sale but specifically for export sales. Mine has "circle S" on the underside of the buttstock by the trigger which is a Savage marked stock. Yours could be an "squared S" "circle squared S" or a "squared S in a square" and still be a Savage mark.

Most of the Savages were marked "U.S PROPERTY" only a few hundred of the first ones built under Brit contract were not so marked. I have seen some that were "scrubbed" to have the US PROPERTY marks removed. The serial numbers usually give them away though. I had one such rifle. Gave it to a buddy of mine but it was later stolen.
 
Is it full wood and full length barrel? If so, $350 and up from there. If sported, $100 and up from there to as high as $200 tops
 
Still batting zero trying to post pics. I registered at Bucket list, created a pic library, then right-clicked under links at the right side of page. It says "copied" in yellow. Should this allow me to paste these pics in a thread reply? Can someone advise a computer idiot on how to proceed?

You've successfully copied it when it says that in yellow, then you return here to your thread and "paste" the img link into your post. (Right click, then choose paste).

Looks to be in decent shape. Rear sight catch is wonky. Still has the green paint. I always think it looks like crap but that is the as issued finish for that time for some of these rifles.

Fenelon, be advised that you have left your photobucket album setting on "public", i.e., not private. You can see a very small lock shaped icon to the right of where it says dpreslies Photos and Videos, and yours shows the lock in the open position. In your case, it seems all you have so far is your gun pics, but if you decide to one day put some racy pics of your wife/girlfriend in them, anybody will be able to see them.
You might want to change your setting to "private." Or not... :D
