Value of upper compared to lower

Generally speaking, what would you guys consider to be the value of an AR15 upper compared to a lower? About 80-20? 75-25? 50-50?

uppers i found are almost twice the price of a lower.

stripped lowers are 200-300 any way you look at them. lower parts kits are 100-200. so the price will always be 300-500 for a lower. there are so many more choices for the uppers, the price really swings .
