I know, a very subjective question and I kinda hate these threads too....but it's a chance at a very nice old scope and coming through a friend of mine and I don't know what to offer to be fair.

Pics of box only, but inside the scope is absolutely mint, still in plastic with documents. May have been mounted at one time but hard to tell.

Why would you only post a pic of the box and not the scope????
Need to see pictures of the scope.

I have had scopes on Switzer's Auction site, and generally been underwhelmed by the selling prices. Unless it is a special piece, don't expect to retire on the proceeds.

External adjustments for W&E. These old Tascos do have a following, might be appropriate for a vintage varmint rifle, but I would not expect it to have any great value.

Agree with Husky about a pic of the scope.
The box however is a little rough around the edges.......

I have an old Japanese made Tasco scope, mine is a straight 4x, that is nice and bright/clear and seems to have really good glass in it, I quite like it. If I recall correctly I think I paid around $50 for it which I believe is a fair price.
These old Japanese Tasco are good vintage scopes in my opinion.

I somehow deleted the scope pics. Will get some soon as I can go back to his place. And yes, it is externally adjustable. I realize its not an Unertl, but I like that old bench-rest kind of stuff.

I'll post up for ya...
If it's this one, which I think it is...a good fair price to the estate would be $500.

I ended up taking it. Now to purchase a vintage benchrest rifle for it. In 222, would suit the best.
But most likely will sit on a shelf with so many other of my "treasures".

Might be really good - might be crap - Tasco did not make scopes - never had a scope factory. Tanross Supply Co. from Florida created "Tasco" brand - would have most anything made that a wholesale buyer wanted to spec - I think they were early into the Japanese scope and lens making capacity - but they never had a factory - order for order - they would find jobbers, etc. to make what the buyer wanted. Some of their products like "Titan" brand, or perhaps their "World Class" brand - about the best in the world at that time. Some others about the cheapest ever made. What the wholesale buyer wanted. So is hard to lump all "Tasco" scopes into one basket - they could do very, very good, and also could do pretty much crap.
