Value on S&W 36 Ladysmith

I've noticed prices here for most 12.6 handguns have really dropped in the last year or so, although I'd think there would be some additional interest since you see very few Ladysmith's for sale. I'd say maybe $350, although I wouldn't be surprised if it goes for less.
 
Good question. Is it really worth a premium over any other LNIB Model 36? Well, maybe. Is that a big premium, probably not.

As J frames go, the highest prices seem to be reserved for the 640/642's, followed by the 34 kit guns, and then the Model 60's. The Model 36 and 37 are neat guns. I have two Model 37's. However, they are probably the most common of the J Frames and consequently command the lowest prices.

A plain jane 36 will probably sell for $200-250. LNIB might command $300.

For the fancy engraved name and the lighter rebound spring I doubt I'd pay more than an extra $50.

I never quite could put my finger on why the 9mm Ladysmith appealed to me while I really had no interest in the rest of the S&W autos.

The S&w 9mm Ladysmith has one sweet grip profile. Its really just a 39/639/3906 with a nicer grip. Still is a 9mm but compact and pretty. Always wanted to own one. Now that they are prohibs, the chances of finding one is dark. Somewhere, someone has one here in the liberal land of prohibs, and given enough time, one will surface.

There used to be a fair number of them for sale here in the EE, but that was years ago. I remember because it was one of the few S&W autos that I liked.
