Value Question - Birmingham 12 gauge

A friend of mine has a black powder Birmingham 12 gauge. The gun is in very rough shape. What's left of it is a stock with a piece missing and the barrel. The action is gone but the trigger is still there attached to the barrel. I guess pictures would help a great deal. I'll put some up tomorrow.

You seem to be describing a percussion shotgun apparently single barrel but no lock. So far from your description, it sounds like it is worth about $10 or $20.
