I have a Remington US model 1917 in 30-06. It has the full wood stock on it. It has all matching numbers. In about 80% condition with no cracks or rust. The barrel date is 9-18. What's it worth and if you were selling it what would you have on it for a price tag?

collectors source as one for sale for 900.In very good condt i would say anywhere 800 to 1000.They tend to sell for less than the spring field 1903 i dont know why that is.They are very good rifles reliable and built to last.It was the model 1917 that was carried by American war hero SGT Alvin York in WW1 not the spring field as so many are led to believe.Tradex had some a while ago i believe they sold 500-600 range but they were not original. The rear site was removed and a dove tail site was installed on the barrell

I believe the Sirius rifles Tradex had all sold for less than $500, some as low as $295. A mint, matching lend lease M1917 might be worth $850-$1000 but most of them won't be worth much more than a Pattern 14, you are probably looking at about $650-$750 depending on condition, I passed on a nice lend lease about a year ago at $700 and I didn't regret it, because I bought a really nice 50' LB No.4 instead for the same price ;). Very nice rifles, under appreciated IMO, even in the States, even though it was their more common service rifle in WW1.

Like all collector rifles, there are many variables. While waiting for pics, here is my take for what it is worth (pun intended)

Assumption 1: Matched receiver and bolt.
Assumption 2: Small parts may or may not be matching as they were serviced throughout a long period and parts were swapped about routinely.

Bog standard/unmessed with M1917 - $500-600
Canadian Marked on butt - $$600-700
Canadian marked on butt with original red paint - $700-800

Winchesters may command slight premium

I agree with this assessment here, I would say 500-650$ area, extra for those things mentioned above.

I'll give you $20.

For the slippers.

Seriously though, I was wondering too, I've got a red stripe-painted Eddystone M17 that my neighbour loaned me. Wondering what to offer him. Has pretty bad surface rust on the barrel and receiver. Matching numbers though.

With the utmost respect, collector source, is one of the most inflated militaria dealers here in Canada so basing a valuation off of their posted price may not be the best idea... You have to remember, they're a business who's sole goal is to turn a profit so almost every item listed on that site will be sold at above market value.

From personal experience, I'd have to agree with the gents who have valued it at around the $600 mark. I say this based on the fact that I sold a rifle here on the EE in very comparable condition for $450 in 2013. Initially I had posted it for $550 but got no takers so the price was dropped and the rifle was moved along. It's possible that prices have risen slightly in the last couple years but I'd doubt they've doubled.
