Hi there, this is a 1924 No. 1 Mk III Lee Enfield SMLE. I was just wondering how much this would be worth. I am not interested in selling it, I am just curious. I have collected many original parts for it over the years including a bayonet, breech cover (Canadian 1943 - c broad arrow), butt stock cleaning kit, Canadian WWII sling, ammo pouch, and a repro stock disc etc.

The rifle is in really great shape. The wood has a few dings here and their but no major flaws (what can you expect from 1924  ) And the action is as smooth as butter. Little or no pitting on the metal parts aswell.

Anywho, I was just curious the rough value of this rifle would be. thanks alot

Is that a magazine cutoff I see there?
Your remark about little or no pitting worries me - what's the finish like?

I'm no expert but I go to a lot of gun shows and the auctions.
From what I've seen, #1's don't seem to get the big bucks.
I'd say about $400 but it would be a hard sell at that price. Sell faster around $300. Lots of them around for under $300.

sorry about the large pic...I resized it.

Yes, that is a magazine cut off you see. Not sure what you mean about the pitting. lol I'm pretty much a newb when it comes to this stuff. That means damage to the metal from rust etc right? the rifle itself really has no sign of rust damage at all. The rifling/barrel is in great shape. There is, however, a very small amount of pitting/rust on the front of the magazine.

Here are a few more pics of the markings and rear sight:

Thanks for the estimate Slash5
