Well, I know it's a long shot, but here goes.
I along with another new hunter from huntingbc are hoping that there's someone out there on Vancouver Island that would be ok with us coming out on a hunt with them this weekend.
Our details: Both UVic students (but are willing to travel as need be), very interested in hunting. We both have practical outdoors experience and enough intelligence to get ourselves out of the bush if need be. Thing is, neither of us come from hunting families and have no practical experience with hunting deer. We've both practiced with our guns, scouted the area we thought was good, knocked on doors, and have had precisely 0% success.
We both have our tags, core and pals, a car, are very aware of firearms safety, are willing to learn, and above all, have the respect for the animal that makes us want to learn from someone who knows how to hunt, so we can make sure we do it the right way from the beginning.
For us, the hunt could be as simple as being told to sit in the bush and wait; we really just would like to learn from someone who knows their stuff.
Thanks in advance to anyone out there who has the time for us
