With the support of the Vancouver Firefighter Charities, Vancouver Firefighters, Jake Gobillot and Bobby Tammen, organize the ALS “Shoot For a Cure” every spring with approximately 300 firefighters, friends, and family in attendance. This fundraiser is a sporting clay shooting challenge with 100% of the proceeds being donated to the ALS Society of BC. The event has raised over $309,000 since 2003 with the hope that a cure for ALS will one day be found.

These are great ways to spin sport shooting in a positive light for those who oppose guns. A good friend of mine hosts an annual charity shoot for Huntington's disease. This will be the 26th year and it makes the local press and I know it has helped change the views of several co workers
Firefighters will certainly get more attention then a bunch of local trap shooters.
I hope they succeed
