I'm going to be going to Vancouver sometime early next month, is there anything of interest to a milsurp collector out there?

You never know what's on the consignment rack at Reliable.

Lever Arms hasn't been the same since Mr. lever sold it. Boy that place was a treasure trove though all I ever bought was ammo there.

Milsurps are now mostly a net EE thing. The days of shopping for hard to find toys at walk-in stores and gun shows are long gone.

I'd argue that - within the last year that I've been in Canada, I've found a Gewehr 98, Webley Mk.I, Colt M1901, .455 1911 and Rast-Gasser 1898, all at shops or shows. It's not what it used to be, but there's still treasure out there.

Lever's, many years ago.

Borchardt, cased with accessories, $1000, marked down to 750. I had that one in my hand, passed it to Austin Taylor (who collected Cloverleafs and 1-1/2s), who agreed that it was a very nice piece. I only found out later who he was! A very gentlemanly and polite person.
Number 4 Mark 1(T) cased w/accessories, $65
Mauser DSM-34, $25... I won a few matches with that one
Kar98ks @ $27.50, unfired, cases and cases of them
Argentine 7.65 SAFN-49 unfired in grease $65, a whole rack
Kar-43, a whole rack, unfired, in grease, @ $65
Webley & Scott Mark IV .38, unfired, in grease, $14.50
Webley & Scott Mark VI, excellent, .455, $17.50
SMLE .22RF, with Match sights, Parker-Hale conversion...
my brother's birthday present; still takes trophies.
MG-42 from The Longest Day, $90
Mle1914 French Hotchkiss 8mm DEWAT, $50, very pretty

My buddy got a "best" Tolley double with a broken butt, replaced it. 500/450x3-1/2" Magnum Nitro Express Number 2, said the Kynoch box of 5: 480-grain slug at 2500 ft/sec. Most impressive at both ends!

I built an SMLE Mark I* * * out of their junk barrel, one piece at a time, cost $12 total. It is my one 'absolute keeper' and still shoots pretty well. My first sort-of resto.

Mr. Lever was a most knowledgeable and gracious gentleman who was willing to put up with a snot-nosed kid coming in to look at all the toys. It is now 45 years later... and I'm still looking.

On the negative side, if you invested heavily in 12.X CA or FA milsurp safe queens, you are bound to lose your shirt in them from lack of resell market and buyers.
