I'm interested in hearing the experiences from anybody that has done the vang comp systems upgrade to there barrel.

The videos they post and the claims they make are mainly about 18.5-20" barrels from what I can tell. Shooting 00 buck at 25 yards and getting a 12" pattern instead of a traditional 25" spread (1" of spread increase per yard)

Anybody have first hand experience doing it with the 14" setup ?
I have both barrels (14 & 20) and wouldn't mind upgrading one but am lacking info on the 14" if its really worth it or not. Does it still achieve 12" at 25 yards with 00 buck?

Thanks for input

IIRC, there is little to no effect on pattern size vs a longer barrel, however I'd be a bit wary of opting for the ports on a short barrel as they will be very close to your hand depending on how you grip the forend.

I have a 14" Vang Comp'd barrel as well as a 14" 870P barrel with Mod choke and the VC'd barrel is tighter than the mod choke. Not half the size or anything but 12" as opposed to 16" or so. If you can find a 14" with the fixed modified choke and simply have Casey lengthen the forcing cone you're about 80% of the way to the Vang barrel at significantly less cost - depends what you want and how much you're willing to spend...

I spoke to Casey about this a while back, he said there will be a noticeable difference between a Cylinder Bore and a VCS but not so much between with a Modified Choke. Contact him directly, he will answer all your questions.
