Have seen these listed at a lgs
nice at ~9 lbs
1:9 twist is nice , 1:8 woiuld have been better but ..

anyone with experience with this setup ? comments on accuracy? best bullet/speed combo ?

Unless one is launching bullets over 75 grains , the 1:9 will usually do fine.
Both my son and I have shot 75's , him out of his 1:9 BT112 factory barrel and myself out of my Krieger barreled Musgrave.

already have stock of 68 gr Gamekings to try if I get it
found another rifle with little use that is up for sale, makes me wonder if accuracy wasn't acceptable for someone when that happens

I've got a 9-twist Remington that likewise stabilizes the Hornady 75gr BTHP nicely, very accurate. I wouldn't be deterred by the twist rate, plus the 69gr Matchkings are great bullets as well.

asking more about the particular rifle than pet loads
Is a Vanguard PRS-ready ?

I mean, you could very easily shoot a PRS match with it for sure; the vanguard is generally a very reliable action. The factory trigger is fine; I'd prefer something a bit different. Just add an additional magazine or two, your preferred optic, and you will be good to go. Ammo out of the gate; just stick to stuff in the 68 - 73 gr area, and it will be good to go.

my first vanguard 223 experience, 4@100 yds

I have a Howa 1500 barrelled action 223 with a 26" barrel in a XRS chassis and the barrel has a 1:8 twist.
