Nice gun Sparkle! These guns Vanguard/Howa really don't get the credit they deserve. IMO they're even better than Rem700's of today in terms of quality and features. Their triggers can use some work but other than that they're good to go. I have the same gun in .204 Ruger, last weekend I got a couple 1" groups at 300yds. Very capable gun, have fun shooting it.

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to trying it out as soon as the weather cooperates. The trigger in it actually seems pretty decent. I think they have improved them considerably in the past couple of years. I have also considered a Timney upgrade, but figured I'd give the factory job a go first.

same scope sitting at my post office. Which number butler creek covers did you use?

Objective = 43 Eye = 16
The Objective is a nice tight fit. The Eye is a little looser, but still pretty good. A 14 might be a better fit (did not try it), but I wanted to be able to remove/reposition the Eye readily, so the 16 suits me just fine. Great choice of scope! :)

The B&C Medalist stock I have on order is the lower one (6655), but in the Olive Green colour of the upper stock:

Wonder if the sunshade would be the same fit....
