Good day everyone!
I’ve been experimenting lately with using 30 carbine 110 grain bullets in my 308 for 100 yard paper punching. I’ve tried a few different powders with decent success including 3031 and red dot. My question is, I’m sitting on a fair bit of Varget and data is not there for this light of a bullet. Anyone tried it before? Anyone have any load data or a starting point?

I'm going to guess that the burn rate is not compatible with a bullet that light. You may be able to get something to work but it's not a well suited powder for that bullet weight.
All I can find is max 50gr of Varget for a 125gr projectile. If you insist on using Varget I would start just under 50gr and see what happens. My suggestion though is to not use Varget with 110gr projectiles in the 308win.

Don't have it written down anywhere, but 48-50gr is what you are looking at. Varget is a bit too slow for such light bullets, you'll have better luck with 3031 and H4198.

Thanks guys... I just thought I would ask incase someone has already travelled down this road.... I looked up the burn rate of varget and it seems to be online with 4064 which again isnt listed with the 110 grain bullets.
Only reason why im asking is that ive got a mountain of varget and I was hoping to use it ( safely of course )
