Varget for .270?

I'm going to start loading for my .270 win. I have 1 lb of varget thats about 1 year old that I used for my 22-250.

Has anyone had any success with this powder and cartridge combo?

Ill be using NOS BT 150gr and CCI primers in my Lee Loader.

What are the best powders and bullets for the .270 shooting 130-150 gr bullets?

Has anyone tried the winchester 130 gr pp? They are pretty cheap.

Varget will make good ammo, but velocity would be down a few hundred fps compared to a better powder. I suggest something in the speed range of 4831, RL19 or H1000.

The wife's 270Win, shoots 130gr. Hornady's a top Hodgdon's max load of Varget.

Accuracy is good, and the 5 deer she's shot so far did'nt have the guts to complain afterwards.

imr 4350 4 the 130gr pills 55.0grs, imr 4831 with 150gr in my 270 with 54.5grs

I have used Varget for 90 & 100gr bullets in my .270 with success. For 130gr bullets I find H4350 & RL22 work best in my rifle. YMMV

I use 52gr of Varget for 90gr Speer TNT bullets. IIRC they were flying around 3300fps.
