Varget for the Triple Deuce?

Fellas,
I rekon previously i loaded the Triple Two with AR2207 (H4198) i believe* to get a mediocre load to get out shootin fox.... succesfull.

However now as we speak Im just back home from NZ for a few weeks and going to give the Foxes a Touch up, Im out of loaded rounds and Also out of 2207 Powder, However I have a heap of VARGET/ AR2208 still and Think i will load 50-100 up with this powder over the 55GR Z max bullet


DATA shows the same charge for the 50gr which i found odd, at 23GR MIN and 25GR C Max....

this should be all good, any one else used Varget for their small cannons?

im shootin out of a Sako A1 , its put a few down the tube but i think plenty of life left in it.

Its not that odd; 25 grains of Varget is all you can get in the case.

24gr is even a little crunchy...but it works well in this cartridge.
I have some D4064 SSC I need to try soon too.

Varget is one of the best powders in my .222 Sako Vixen. It really likes the 50gr VMAX bullets. Below are some of my test groups, 5 shots per group, 50m indoor range (too cold for the old bones to shoot outside in the winter). The best group is 24gr Varget. Note that my cases are full sized reformed Lake City 5.56 cases. Charge weights and group size are beside each target.

Well, i got about 18-20 cases in an i stick a case up the die.. FFS

I have tried a lot of powders in my 222's, Vhit 133, reloder7 are my favorites.
but i will give varget a try as well.

H322 was the best tested in my CZ Fox. It was a solid 1/2" gun at 100 meters.
