The only people that make them are controlled by HK and the German gov. Basically the same situation as Colt Canada

I think H&K fully realizes how much money they could be making with a wider range of civilian options, but they are subject to the whims of the highly anti-gun German government in terms of civilian sales (at least for German-manufactured stuff which is all we can get in Canada). Hence the offset pins on the MR223, the SL8 magwell and just generally being unwilling to play nicely with civilians.
