50 grain Vmax is all I use for coyotes with a .223.

55 grain Winchester silver tips, 243 wssm works well.

Coyotes are tough critters and will run forever with a bad hit.

I've shot 5 coyotes with my .223 55g corelokt PSP this winter. 2 of them ran about 20-40 yards before piling up with good shoulder shots. 2 dropped on the spot with shots right behind the shoulder, shot one right in front of his back leg at 180 yards on a dead run and he flipped ass over tea-kettle 2 times and never moved, maybe the summersaults broke his neck
