vaue of gun?

looking for information on a .45 calibre muzzle loader i just purchased...

the gun says Safari arms limited Toronto but says Black powder only made in Italy. I see a Capital I in a square on the gun if this helps as well....

Safari Arms was an importer of black powder guns which is no longer in business. I have a Pietta .44 1851 Navy Yank revolver with Safari Arms Toronto stamped on the barrel. How about some pictures of your gun to make identification possible.

I have one in 58 cal that I acquired from the factor rep. It doesn't even have Safari arms on the gun, only made in Italy. I did have some problems trying to get it registered but it's done now. Unfortunatley it now a safe queen.

usually find these at gun shows between 250- and 350- depending on condition. flinters bring about 50- more. these are usually good shooters but not that many new bp shooters in the market so price is always under pressure.

Safari was the importer. Investarms was the manufacturer. They are the same company that builds the Cabelas Hawken rifle and also build the Lyman rifles. They are well built and good shooters.
