Anyone have experience with Vector Optics? I'm in the market for a FFP tactical scope for long range target shooting. I don't plan on selling the scope anytime soon, so resale value is less important to me than the purchase price.

Met someone who told me about Vector, claiming it's Vortex Viper PST quality for the price of Vortex Diamondbacks. And that it's made in the same factory as the Vortex's, with an equivalent warranty offered via their Canadian distributor. Vector's Taurus HD scopes looks to be in direct competition as the Viper PST's, the Vector even has locking turrets at less than half the price.

Cyclops Videos aka Joe W Rhea from YouTube seems to like them. What do you guys think? Not that I don't wanna buy once/cry once, but if the Vector is indeed a hidden gem I'll rather spend the $700 price difference on bullet, primers, and powder.

Thanks

hi Awesomealvin. i have reviewed a good many of their optics, specifically the Taurus in question and the vortex diamondback tactical. those two i would say are closer tobeing on par the taurus being slightly better ( eye releif and clarity) . Vector just came out with the Vector Continental witch is in direct competition to the Vortex Strike eagle and pretty much same price. l

PST was made in the Philippines, I think all Vectors are made in China, China is pretty much the last place you want making your scope, shoddy QC, way over priced.

Vector is listing their new continental as having Schott glass, but lists manufacturing as coming from China...

If it is German Schott glass then it is a game changer for the company for budget optics options.

Definitely not your typical Chinese scope. Vector optics is designed to compete and win against many brands out there. I find the glass quality to be supurb.
I don't know much about the glass, as a previous poster mentioned, but side by side with other scopes, you can see the light transmission is awesome.

I'd say go for it.
