I had a chance to briefly fire an MG3 at a full auto shoot in Albany OR a few years ago. I say briefly, because at 1200 rpm, the 50 round belt went real fast.
When it was fired by others, it had a different sound that made spectators stop and look.

i used to shoot ca my mg42 on the layfette tripod in in semi mode it was awesome
