"If you don't eat yer meat, you can't have any pudding! How can you have any pudding if you don't eat yer meat?!"
I don't really care if people eat meat or they don't for whatever reason they choose...that's THEIR businesses ,what I was taking issue with was their messianic delusions to tell ME what I was doing was 'unethical'......for the record,I try to eat more fruit and vegetables that I grow myself and wild fish that I catch than red meat ,and what red meat I eat I try to harvest myself....at least I know the fish wasn't farmed and the moose or deer was eating what God intended it to eat,and not fed a bunch of growth hormones....who knows what the long term effects are(Andre says he doesn't care what they say about how safe it's,all he knows is what he sees on his examining table)
my hunting partner Andre is a surgeon from South Africa and he says he sees far more cancers of the gut than he ever saw in South Africa and when I asked him why? , he said 'what we're eating' -the people in SA ate mainly whole grain foods that they prepared themselves and what meat they ate was either wild game or grass fed...not laced with growth hormones.Even our commercially produced milk comes from cows fed hormones in their diet.Funny,he also says the SA kids are the healthiest kids in the world, they're on the tit not formula, eat whatever they can stuff in their mouth rarely wash anything and run around barefoot all day...food alergies are almost unknown and they have excellent immune systems.....kinda makes you think, doesn't it?
What a lot of people fail to take into account is there are 'prey' species and 'preditor' species and in the natural order of things prey species get eaten.Of course I believe we should endeavour to treat any animal humainly ,but on the other hand,Nothing likes being eaten...and I make no apologies for enjoying fishing even if the salmon is desperately trying to get away
After being treated to the 'morally ethical' speeches and looked down the nose once too often about 'exploiting innocent animals ' I decided to knock them off their highbrow perch and go on the offensive by stating ' nobody who drinks water can claim to be a vegetarian '( a point of view they've never been confronted with before and aren't ready for because it's a fact)and then when can't answer that they start on about 'confining animals into small spaces ' I ask 'what about the animals in your water bottle that once roamed free in lakes and rivers until you selfishly captured them and confined them in small water bottles until you swallowed them screaming and yelling and kicking as you ate them alive?...I at least KILL my meat before I eat it( trust me,they've never been confronted with that one) .....and when they try to back peddle and say 'but they are very small and I can't see them' I spring the trap and demand 'since when has SIZE got to do with morality?but if you insist on drinking water, will you at least boil it first to kill the animals you are 'exploiting'?.. and as for ' not seeing them' I say ' so what you really mean is it's ok to eat a beefsteak as long as you put a blindfold on?'...then just sit back and listen to their feeble areguements as they try to wiggle out of the corner they just painted themselves into..and NOBODY has been able to give me an answer why ' you can't claim to be a vegetarian or vegan if you drink water'....gotta love it...(my wife says 'do you HAVE to do that ? And I say 'yup,I do',and besides,it's fun')

Really don't understand what your issue is with people making lifestyle choices that couldn't possibly affect your choice for the bacon double cheeseburger.
I don't care what other people eat or don't eat. But while you have no issues there are many vegetarians and vegans that are rabid about it even walking into public places screaming at people eating meat or having a burger. That I have an issue with. You don't see meat eaters going to salad bars and other places vegans eat shouting at them that they are murderers and despicable. Or as said those who eat meat and despise hunting. That is the issue.

The vegans and vegetarians I run into most often are young tattooed hipster 20-30 somethings, when they start spouting off about it I always ask them if they know that animal products are in their tattoos. Most times it really shuts them up, you see most tattoo pigments contain animal based glycerin haha. Stupid hipster vegans...
