Just like the title says. I know this is pretty general, but anyone have any opinions on either?
I've used Stingers plenty and am always impressed by the terminal ballistics, but I've never touched a velocitor. I know they're a little slower, but the bullet is 40gr so does that give it an edge as far as expansion/penetration goes?
Just how good is the speer gold dot bullet?

I started using Velocitors about 2 yrs ago and haven't touched a Stinger since. Excellent accuracy out of my Cooey mod. 60. I'm getting sub 1" groups out to 75 yards off a bench. They do quite a number on jackrabbits @ 50 yards amd I am trying to get me a coyote with them this winter. They hit harder than the stingers; 110 ft/lbs @ 100 yards and a velocity of 1112 ft/sec @100 yards as compared to 90 ft/lbs @ 100 yards and a velocity of 1124 ft/sec @ 100 yards for the Stingers. Definitely worth a try. They are only 50 cents more than Stingers for a box of 50. Put a few through your plinker and see if the old girl likes them. -Jason

I also prefer the velocitors, they definitely hit harder, they will allow you to shoot further. Although I have to say the stingers shoot also damn well too in my 10/22.

For anything bigger than a squirrel, I would stick to the velocitors..

my 2 cents

I have used both, the stingers are great for anything the size of a gopher and the velocitors for anything bigger. The stingers make a bigger hole in a gopher but the velocitors kill them just as good but less dramatic.
