Not a common rifle these days. Not positive about this, but it seems this one falls outside (higher) numbers actually sent to Venezuela. It depends on the starting serial number. This one is 45XX.

According to one book I have there were two Venezuelan contracts numbered 1-4000 and 4001 to 8000. I also have one from the second block.

Yeah. It looks like this one falls well within the range, plus it has a nice stamp on the stock.

The 7x57 ones shoot nice. I have a 1st batch and 2nd batch Venny and both out shoot my 8x57mm Egyptian and 30-06 Luxembourg. My latest find, an Argentine in 7.62x51/.308 I haven't had enough range time to determine where it sits in the mix. Anyways, uncommon, but very awesome firearms.

They don't really do it for me, I've had several and I prefer the SKS.

SKS doesn't do it for me, I have one and still prefer Vz58.
