Got a question for you fella's who carry an encyclopedia of shotgun knowledge around in your heads! ;)

I'm wondering if a 12 ga pump shotgun with the ventilated poly-choke system is okay to shoot slugs in?.. Not just ordinary Foster slugs , but ones reloaded in plastic shot cups , i.e. one piece wads...
I'm concerned about the "jump" the slug/wad combo has to make before entering the poly-choke.. Guess I'm thinking the whole projectile might begin to open up a little beforehand....

Anything to be concerned of here?... How about buckshot reloads , in shotcup with buffer?...

I just want to make sure I'm not going to get myself in trouble here... By the way , the idea behind using a Poly-choked 12 ga for slugs is that I can open the choke right up to Cyl , and start from there seeing how it shoots , adjusting the choke slightly towards Imp Cyl to see if results are better or worse.

Thanks!

Bob

Have a Mossberg bolt action 20 gauge with a vented Poly Choke that I have been shooting slugs through with no problems. I just leave it on the IC,
