Versamax Replacement

Benelli has 24 BlackEagle, Prophet River special ordered for from States
Ha, I handled the 28" Super Black Eagle yesterday.

I also handled the Browning Maxus 2 and Beretta A400. The Benelli felt the lightest / most compact IMO. Hard to make a call from a minutes worth of handling in a store however.

I have watched some reviews and they are all over the place with one person stating that they went from a 1301 (gas gun) to a Stoeger (inertia gun) and found they could run way lighter loads with no issues, then another completely flips that on its head saying that they found that the Beretta would run anything and the inertia gun (forget which, might have been a Browning) was much more fussy / less reliable.

I know that inertia needed to be handled / held a certain way to make it function properly (needs to be solid / held firm - no loosey goosey) so maybe that is a factor.

Hello. Looking for some parts for a Versa Max tactical. Safety button, high lift stock piece, oversized bolt release and someone that can supply me with a modified lift plate or a stock one I can modify myself. Thanks.

Another 3-gun buddy here just bought a Maxus 2. The auto-load army is growing! Haha

I am still mulling this over.

Right now it is between the Maxus 2 and Beretta (not sure which but thinking one of the 3.5" guns with the Kick Off stock, the most extreme version for reducing recoil).

Going to start off with a day at the range with my Versamax. Gonna blast a variety of rounds and make a decision if I run it this year or if an upgrade is on the cards.

Leaning towards an upgrade but King Turdhole at the helm makes me hesitant to purchase an evil semi auto shotgun, especially as he is currently on the slippery slope in popularity and is looking for some easy "wins" to stop the bleed (he simply cant see his hard left policies and narcissistic personality are what got him here).

Thinking out loud, most of the guns I am looking at have pretty long barrels (28" / 30"), I think my Versamax is 21" and thats enough from a nimble POV in action shooting.

Can shotgun barrels be cut down / rethreaded for chokes (ie from 28" to 21")? I am guessing so and if I do pick up something new it will be getting a makeover from Tac Ord and I would be surprised if they couldn't do this.

I imagine the cut would be wherever the closet spot is that the rib meets the barrel - has anyone had one cut down / rethreaded?

I agree with your comment as to what to purchase. Just because it’s not on the list today doesn’t mean it won’t be tomorrow?

If history has taught us anything it is that the Liberal will never stop when it comes to gun bans.

They have had sizeable political gains from it with zero risk. The fact that it will make zero tangible difference to crime / safety is not important.

Expense (ie cost of "buyback") is the only potential bogeyman for this exercise, when it comes time to pony up if the Liberals have put us in a tight spot financially (remember King Turdhole likes self balancing budgets) it could make that discussion awkward.

I believe that the safety part of the whole thing is just to sell it to everyone. I believe it’s more about disarming the people they just don’t want to say it.

Agreed. The safety angle helps to sufficiently scare the sheep should they need it. Most will simply go along because they are city condo dwellers that have zero interest in firearms and simply don't care one way or the other.

In all the proposed legislation / bans / buyback etc etc etc I have not heard one single initiative to remove a firearm from a criminal that does not plan to give it up willfully but Trudeau doesn't want to be concerned with hard / awkward stuff like that.

So with that in mind, it is fair to say this is NOT about safety.

The Tac Ord 1301 comp pro is my replacement for my Tac Ord versa max

This is the most likely route for me should I pick up a replacement for my VM. I *almost* took the plunge as Tac Ord had a super cool gun ready to go but the 3" chamber and 8 round capacity stopped me.

How does it shoot?
