Gentlemen,
This file not only tells us how many M1 Garands have been built but it also tells us were they went.

I hope some of this data helps. Even more data on this subject next post.

Alot of this basic info is also in Scott Duff's book. These, for those that don't know, would be the "gas trap" Garands, not the gas port version we all have.

Would you know how many M1s were made daily, on average, during the war?

From the figures I have the daily production number would be close to these:

Jan 1940 approx. 110 per day,
Jan 1941 approx. 476 per day,
Jan 1942 approx. 2380 per day,
Jan 1943 approx. 2600 per day,
Jan 1944 approx. 3030 per day and
Jan 1945 approx. 2700 per day.

Note, that during 1940 and most of 41, the US was not a war yet.
