257 Weatherby in a Ruger#1 28 tube on this one
Always wanted a 257 but have never been a big fan of the mark5
And when I seen that Lipseys had a #1 with a 28 inch tube I got exited.
Been a long few months waiting,
But collected some reloading stuff.
Got a smoking deal on a VX3 4.5-14 X40 from Wholesale sports this December for $575.00 plus a mail in $100USD rebate.

I got a Vanguard in .257 Wby, nice flat shooting cartridge with mild recoil. Hornady brass was about the most reasonably priced at $77/50.
Can you neck size for a single shot like the #1?
 
I have for all my other #1 rifles, just have to check if they all chamber.
Some times I have to run the brass threw the full length sizers.
But get away with neck sizing most of the time. And Weatherby brass is Norma and I have loaded Norma brass for a lot of my guns and it has always been top quality.
My 25-06 with federal brass had SD of 45-55 FPS and with Norma it went to 4-11 FPS So it is a huge difference in quality.

I have 6 boxes of the Wby 100gr stuff. That's my brass source. Also have the RCBS dies in waiting. And a Burris Veracity 5-25x50mm.
 
It is a pretty looking cartridge.... I've been moly coating my bullets to hopefully reduce throat erosion a bit. The Hornady brass is pretty good, I have some Nosler for back up (also made by Norma) but I'll run the Hornady for now.

Got dies for sale in the EE if anyone needs RCBS, ended up with 2 sets by some bad luck lol
