I have bought lots from them in the past without too much of a problem.
Ordered a 1951 Laminate SKS. Received a 1950 birch stock (cracked at the wrist) SKS.
Asked to return it. Westrifle asked for pics. Which I provided. That was 3 months ago.
Finally I threw in the towel and told them to refund the difference.
Never heard a thing after, never got a refund (I think it was 10 or 20 bucks but it is the principal of the matter).

So moral of the story is I ended up with a non-chrome lined (bore has mild pitting) cracked birch stock SKS that I didn't want, and paid full laminate price for.
Am I being unreasonable?

I know what you mean about at some point needing to "throw in the towel". Can you leave feedback here on CGN? If the gun was advertised through this site that would seem like a viable option.

No, I bought it directly from their website unfortunately.

I've got a stock you could have... It'll take me a couple weeks to get it to ya but it's yours if you need one. Think I have three to choose from.

Not surprised on the crap service. Sucks.

Yeah, you should be able to return something that was not as advertised with no questions asked. Benefit of the doubt is they made a mistake and did not knowingly pull a bait and switch on you, so they should be making an effort to make it right.
I would call them back and ask for full refund or exchange for what you originally ordered. If they have a record of the order and the sale they don't need photos to see that they shipped the wrong product.

I thought you had a thread on this a month ago? Too bad, I've only ever had good dealings with them.

No, that thread was about a Mosin they sent out that was counterbored as well as heavily pitted. They made that right by swapping out. I never had a real issue with their service before this.

Maybe they are throwing in the towel on me also.

I wasn't overly impressed with them either.bought a mosin off of them told them I didn't care what year /manufacture or price just wanted as good a bore as I could get.bought three off them hoping for a good one.all I ever got was fair to good bores and heavy muzzle cleaning rod wear.talked to them every time finally he just blurted out they are what they are.corwin found me a mint 42 izzy no extra cost also my sks is a mint refurb in all aspects.I won't go anywhere else now.

I ordered a 91/30 from Westrifle about a year back. I specifically asked about the bore condition of a rifle advertised and they told me it was a "very nice bore". The bore was heavily pitted and dark. First and last purchase from them.

I ordered a 91/30 from Corwin and asked for a nice bore, I got a mint bore and the rifle shoots ~2.5" with irons. 'Nuff Said.

Did something change the last couple years? All I heard before was good about them. Bought a couple of those $110 Mosins and was very happy with the condition of them when they showed up.

Is it maybe just that we are down to the dribs and drabs in the bottom of the barrel now with some milsurps. I've noticed that a my CTC store the K98's they get in are very rough compared to what was available a few years ago, price has gone up too.

Bottom of the barrel is still no excuse for getting a solid birch stock instead of the laminate stock as ordered by the OP. They should be exchanging that for the OP no questions asked.

I bought a Mosin from them last year, it looked great on the outside in the pics online but the once I got it in hand the barrel was in terrible shape and it had a rather large counterbore drilled out. I complained to Westrifle and they wanted to know details as to exactly what I was unhappy with but still offered an exchange or refund. When I looked into return shipping from Ontario it wasn't worth it. I ended up taking it to the range and sighting it in and it shot quite well!! If I was a soldier and they handed me that rifle I would have been happy to shoot it.

In the end, I only have so much room in my safe for guns and I just listed it here on the EE for a great price and sold it locally. I lost what it would have cost me to ship it back to Westrifle and like $10. It took me quite a while to clean it out and sight it in but that's all fun stuff for me.

I was satisfied with Westrifle however I don't think I'll buy another firearm from them. I've since bought a a few crates of ammo and accessories and been completely satisfied with their service.

I don't think you're being unreasonable at all. You didn't get what you specifically ordered and paid for. IIRC they use specific numbers to show which gun is which on their website, so it should be easy for them to ship you what you ordered.

After 3 months I don't think I'd keep trying to contact them and get it straightened out either. I'd "throw in the towel", tell others about my experience, and not buy from them anymore - just what you're doing now.

I never heard from a place for a month, after emails and such, I picked up the phone, that 1 min I was on the phone, solved everything.

Screw this email, PM, crap and call them.
