.44Mag (obviously), 5.5", blued, rosewood stocks.

Truth be told it's not the most obviously pretty firearm out there, but it grows on you. The chunky grip is comfortable, and the recoil is fine. It's my first .44, and I'm comfortable shooting it in SA but in DA it's a little wild yet. Sights work fine, and it smells purdy after a bit of shootin.

At just over 3 pounds it's healthy, and there's no lock built into it!

do yourself a favor and stick a set of hogues on there- it makes a world of difference to the handling

remember, if you reload, you can drop all the way down to 44 special type loads- there's no need to start off with the full factory hunting loads unless you want to- i found the factory grips a little too skinny for my tastes, but i have large hands

What a beauty!

Luckyorwhat,

CONGRATULATIONS! It's funny, but I've been looking at exactly the same gun lately...I think they are a very good looking revolver; particularly in blue steel w/ the factory wooden stocks and the 5 1/2" barrel. Thanks for the pictures, I think you may have just pushed me over the edge. I'll probably be going to buy one on Monday. :D

Best wishes, Jeff/1911.

Very nice. I had the 5.5" stainless version. What a well built gun. Really accurate with pratice. I read that a trigger job makes a world of difference on them. Also you can handload really hot with them with no problems.

I've been practicing dry-firing and I've found that I get a better purchase with my hand up higher, and with a gap-filling grip I wouldn't be able to do that. Trigger pull isn't exactly straight back, a little upwards too, but seems OK. Have to try at the range next weekend.

Jeff you'll like it, guarantee. Points really well, and trigger finger fits perfect under the cylinder parallel to the barrel, so you just point at something and checking the sights it's on target.

Got dies coming for it, now I need a .44 lever.

T, Buck, Big I believe it's reliable, easily. Allow me to reference Boris the Blade,

Heavy is good, heavy is reliable. If it doesn't work you can always hit them with it.

Tstar I believe you must have really big hands, skinny is not a word I could use to describe this gun, in any manner:)

I have the 7.5" SS version. A real beauty, I even like the trigger. Shooting pipsqueak .44 Special loads out of it just doesn't seem right somehow. When I'm reloading I'm often tempted to go whole hog with the powder - after all I've paid for the bullet, the primer and the brass, why make it "pop" when it can buck and roar for a few cents more?

Dirty Harry only fired .44 special loads, are you calling him a pussy? :)

Plus after 70 shots my trigger finger felt a little raw.
