Very stiff pumping Sheridan?

Hello and come on Spring!
I've been trying, but haven't had any luck yet, so I'll put it out to you...just maybe.

I've got a newer Sheridan Blue Streak. It has the black plastic butt plate with the white spacer. Also the trigger guard is squarish, whereas the older guns had nice rounded trigger guards. Safety is a pull out - push in device sticking straight out the back. Gee, I wish they had model numbers!

Anyway, since I bought it new, it was fairly stiff to pump up. I thought that it would improve with use. It didn't. I was going to give it some oil, but it is stamped right at the air intake hole "do not oil". That suggests to me that the pump piston is never an issue and probably something synthetic anyway.

That just leaves the intake valve imo. Are any of you out there familiar with this gun and this problem? Can you offer any advice? I'm reluctant to ship it back to the USA - red tape and all. Much thanks in advance!

Mowich.
