Not sure whether this is the right sub-forum for gun cleaning topics, but don't see another that would be appropriate. So here goes--
Does anyone here use the VFG bore cleaning system? Instead of the more usual methods where you wrap a patch around a jag to clean the bore, with the VFG components, you screw a felt pellet onto the rod tip and run that through the bore. The pellets come in two forms: (1) softer pellets for light cleaning and light oiling of the bore and (2) coarser pellets with a very fine abrasive substance embedded in them for more aggressive cleaning, including carbon and copper removal.
I've recently purchased a new Schultz & Larsen switch-barrel rifle, and S&L strongly recommends this VFG process. Obviously, this is just a suggestion, but I'm curious about the pros and cons of the VFG system and about anyone's experience with it.
