New about AR-10 vice blocks but - what is a reaction rod?

Reaction rod basically sits in the barrel extension to allow you torque down the barrel nut without putting any stress on the receiver.

Never knew about the rod either, could have used that on my first build. Definitely buying one for the next.

I have the Magpul vice block. Worked fine for my 2 ARs. I would have bought one if I didn't have the vice block already
