Hey folks.

Just looking for a little help. Recently completed my BC on line CORE course and just need to find an examiner to administer the exam. The list provided is either out of service, examiner no longer doing tests or no one is calling me back after a week.

Anyone know of an examiner Southern Vancouver Island that can administer the exam.

Still looking. Getting somewhat frustrated with this endeavour. Take my on line course, BC wildlife federation provides a list of a dozen or so people in Victoria who administer the exam, but again the list is outdated or no one calls back. BC wildlife federation contacted and they say they are looking to find an examiner for me but two weeks later still nothing. Seeing plenty of people trying to get new hunters on board yet can't take the exam. It's not like a live in a town of 200 people. If anyone knows of someone in greater Victoria who administers the core exam please PM me with their contact number.

Have you contacted BCWildlifer Fed and asked them for an updated list or asked them why none from the list they provided are not calling you back?
They after all are vetted by both the Government and BCWildlife Federation to provide a service...

I'll hazard a theory in that they don't want to provide the test because they didn't instruct you and thus didn't make any money and will not make any money by providing the exam.

Unless of course someone in the know ( vetted providers of CORE ) can provide alternative facts as to why the OP is not getting call backs....

To to Island Outfitters...do they not provide the class and exams, see what the say.

When the online course was floated a couple years ago at the BCWF AGM, instructors were expected to do the testing for $10.

That literally flew like a fart in a wind storm . . .

Testers I have talked to suggest a $25 minimum and that is based on set up for a number of appointments in one day.
It would go up considerably for a single session for one person.
 
I did my test at SilverCore in Delta. Cost like $10.50.

I got my hands on a copy of the book, and read it over the course of a month. Passed the test with ease. I didn't realize there was an online course. Did that have a fee associated with it?

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with it out that way, but if you ever end up on this side of the water SilverCore was really easy to deal with and figure out a time that worked for both of us (They were pretty open, you just do the test in their office)
 
The online course was $82.00 tax in. They state that there is the $10.00 fee for an examiner to administer the exam which I even thought was low.

And I went to island outfitters today and got their list so we'll see if that works out. Thanks for the suggestions

$82!? Ouch. What's the book worth, around $30? (I found a pdf online, so i didn't pay anything...)
