Video - 90gr 22cal at 500m vs Milk Jug

Thought you guys might enjoy some testing I did yesterday. Shot at 500m from my Savage Shilen 223, 7 twist, 28" long, over 2800fps

Berger 90gr BT (1st hit) left and a bit high of center.

Berger 90gr VLD (2nd hit) low but centered on jug.

Should put a hurt on an animal/varmint

Since the crack of the report coincides with the impact, can we assume the average speed of the projectile was approximately the speed of sound?

For shot 1, right edge of jug. Wind at target was strong as you see in the video but mirage was tailing off. About 3" more drift then planned for.

2nd shot, mirage was much slower so held pretty much center but forgot to adjust for lower POI which is why the VLD hit low.

The ballistics on this set up is very nice and compares very favorably to my 6.5 F Open rig.

That's my thinking. If I get some time, I will try putting 2 or 3 jugs in a row and see how far the bullet would go.

Very surprised it had that much residual energy.
