No information in this statement ..
I just finished a hash brown I bought at McDonalds that I saw in their ad on TV .. Is everyone worried ...
I did not have to take two weekends dedicated to getting an RPAL before I could do it , I did it on impulse .. So really be worried .....
Not to take a swing at the newbie, my first post was about how many handguns I could own before attracting unwanted attention (the consensus was that having just one gun of any sort attracted unwanted attention) but as easily as my post could be construed as an anti attempting to foment hatred against an identifiable group, this OP sounds along the same lines: Time will tell. Would it be sensible to add to the forum rules, a recommendation that first posts be more (seemingly) credible to someone (legitimate) who is trying to establish a footing here? We all started with zero posts, and antis can't hide their hoplophobia for long.
If the OP is legitimate: Why would I find that situation worrying? I have been mentoring a fourteen year old boy and taking him to the range a few times since I bought handguns and he plays video games: Yes, it is funny, but does get boring hearing how this gun is so much more powerful, or this looks really cool you should get them... (which I don't because they are neither by fact or my opinion on appearance) He is safe using my guns, but I shoot the larger calibers first so he can see the recoil: The sight of the "dirty harry" gun, in my case being a stainless 5" 44mag recoiling with heavy loads didn't fare well with his desire to shoot it, nor my confidence he could hold it so logically I don't put a gun in his hands that would be difficult to control or scare him off shooting accurately.
The kid that went into your wifes workplace may have stars in his eyes, but that doesn't make anything scary: It might suggest "impulse buy" when someone young would sensibly start with a 22 or 9mm to keep affordability in mind (and not to take advantage of the gravy train from mommy and daddy that so many kids today are greatly disserviced by) and subsequent ability to shoot more. The fact that 22 pistols aren't featured much in video games except likely in assasination roles might explain why the impulse and lust for the popular models in history like the 1911 weigh in their favour: If the same kid responsibly picked a Ruger mkIII should we be equally worried?
and besides, the gubbermit says he's ok to have any restricted and we all know that big brother cares more about us than we do.
